The internet's primary resource for one specific Andy Barr

I’ll be returning to Leicester Comedy Festival in 2026 with a new show: Andy Barr: A Comet Appears. Given that my most recent show was the culmination of around 6 years of work (including material at least 8-10 years old!) it is frightening to be preparing an entirely new show. BUT! Things can be multi-faceted and this thing is also exciting.

The timing of the Leicester deadline is such that it is fairly nerve-wracking to come back from Edinburgh and immediately have to start thinking about (and paying for) a new show, but it also serves as a wonderful, figurative kick up the brain to get working, suspend moping, desist from licking recent wounds.

The blurb for this new show (written in haste hours ahead of a deadline) is as follows:

In 989 AD, Eilmer of Malmesbury saw Halley’s Comet in the night sky. In 1066 he saw it again as England fell. In 2026, 2025 Best New Show nominee, Andy Barr returns to Leicester with a new hour of material. Coincidence? I think not.
“Get ready to meet your new favourite comedian.” John Kearns, “Highly enjoyable and incredibly funny” – ***** – A Young(ish) Perspective, “Andy Barr is the real deal.” – **** – The Skinny, “Andy Barr is proven. Bonafide as an untapped goldmine of bizarre potential just waiting for that wider audience to embrace him.” – British Comedy Guide, “Never dull” – Chortle
