Don’t call it a comeback – [ANDY BARR’S] been here for years…
Born in 1990 in a hospital in Kent, Andy Barr soon relocated to a house in Kent and got down to the mucky business of growing up.
Since then, Barr has attained GCSEs, A-Levels, a degree (2:1) and a job in administration – all of which he has used to make a base from which to launch himself into numerous creative pursuits. He began writing aged ~4, playing the guitar aged 14 and writing and performing stand-up comedy aged 20. Each of these strands of his being have paid off to different extents; he won the H.G. Wells Short Story Competition in 2011, has produced three full-length Edinburgh Fringe solo shows, along with numerous hour-long shows with avant-garde art-comedy kollectiv, Consignia, and plays bass in a guitar music band, previously called Eldest Child, now seemingly nameless.
As of March 2020 Barr has not started a podcast, but accepts that it is a statistical inevitability for someone from his demographic.
UPDATE: It’s now August 2022 and it’s been a busy couple of years for Barr – two podcasts! Unlocked World with Alastair Bridge had a six episode run in 2020 (and a live show debuted at Leicester Comedy Festival 2022) and Born Yesterday, presented with co-host, Alexander Bennett, has enjoyed a successful eight episode run across August 2022 – more later.
